Fripp - Speaking Engagements
Guitarist,
composer, and producer Robert Fripp is unlike many legendary musicians.
He is an intellectual, exceptionally well-read in multiple areas
of study, and yet a modest man. Robert is equally comfortable discussing
the history of religion with a country vicar as he is discussing
world economics with someone like the late Sir Edward Heath
who was for many years a neighbor.

A founding (and ongoing) member
of King Crimson, he has collaborated with the likes of David Bowie,
Peter Gabriel, and Brian Eno. In fact, Rolling Stone magazine
named Robert Fripp 42 among the top 100 guitarists of all time.
As much as Fripp is internationally-known for his brilliance with the guitar...
he is a superb and entertaining speaker.
Robert Fripp
began playing guitar on December 24th, 1957, giving guitar lessons
in 1960, and became a professional musician in 1967.
Fripp
is probably best known as guitarist and a founding member of King
Crimson (1969); collaborator of Brian Eno (No Pussyfooting, Evening
Star & Unreleased Works Of Startling Genius), contributor to albums
by David Bowie (Heroes & Scary Monsters), Peter Gabriel (PG I, II
& III) & Eno (Here Come The Warm Jets, Before And After Science,
Nerve Net) among many others.
He is perhaps
less well-known as the founder of Guitar Craft (1985), an ongoing
program of mainly residential guitar instruction in North & South
America, and Europe.
In 2007 Microsoft
released its Windows Vista, with opening sound composed and performed
by Fripp.
Fripp
is as eloquent a speaker as he is a master performer.
For many years,
following his solo performances, Fripp has engaged and delighted
his audiences with his impromptu conversations and highly entertaining
Q & A sessions. Discipline & the Act of Music first became popular
in his college lecture tours in the early 1980's
Did you know...
Fripp is happily married to British actress, singer, and TV presenter
and host, Toyah Willcox, and that his
sister, Patricia Fripp, CSP, CPAE, is an award-winning keynote speaker,
sales presentation skills trainer, and in-demand executive speech
coach?
